About MySolarGuideHub

MySolarGuideHub is an independent, reader-supported guide to home solar energy. We exist for one reason: most people researching solar have to piece together their understanding from installer sales pages, forum threads, and marketing brochures — none of which are written to help you make an unbiased decision. We write the guide we wish existed when we started looking into solar ourselves.

What we do

Each guide on this site breaks down one part of the solar buying and ownership process — how the technology works, what drives cost, how financing options differ, how to evaluate an installer, and what ongoing maintenance actually looks like. We aim for plain language without oversimplifying the parts that genuinely affect your decision, and we're explicit about where numbers vary by region rather than presenting a single figure as universal.

What we don't do

We don't sell solar installations, panels, or batteries, and we don't accept payment from manufacturers or installers to feature their products. We don't operate a lead generation service that sells your contact details to installers. When we mention specific figures like typical cost ranges or incentive structures, we say so and point you toward primary sources — your utility, your local energy office, or a tax professional — for the exact numbers that apply to you, since these details change often and vary by location.

How guides are written and maintained

Guides are researched and written in-house, with a focus on concepts and decision frameworks that stay useful even as specific incentive amounts or equipment models change over time. When a guide references pricing, incentives, or equipment specifications, we frame it as an example or typical range rather than a fixed promise, and we revisit guides periodically to keep them accurate.
